Hello and welcome to The Sewing Studio based in Wiltshire.
We offer sewing classes and one to one tuition to anyone with an interest in sewing – everyone is welcome!
Our classes run for 5 weeks from 6.30pm to 8.30pm and are kept to a maximum of 5 pupils at any one time, that way we help you work on your project quickly and efficiently.
Our beginners class is for anyone who wants to begin dressmaking and takes time to explain how to choose a commercial pattern, which size to make and guides you through sewing your first toile (sometimes called a muslin or mock-up). We recommend an A-line skirt for beginners as it is a flattering shape for all plus you get to put in a zip too!
The Intermediate class is for those who are a little more confident and need help with fitting issues or who wish to progress their skills. You are welcome to make anything you like, however you may need to allow time at home to work on more complicated projects.
One-to-one tuition is available at a mutually convenient time. A 2 hour appointment is typically a good length of time to work through your queries.
We also offer a one-to-one fitting service where we will help you adjust and fit your commercial patterns to fit your figure.
If you have been sewing for years or just purchased your first sewing machine you are welcome to join us!
